GCU Campus Technology’s Web Services offers a variety of services to augment, develop, manage, and maintain web material. These services are available to all departments, faculty and units at GCU. Web Services will work with GCU departments and faculty to develop web-based solutions that can improve departmental workflows, communication, messaging and help streamline work and communication processes across campus.
Assist instructors in building course-related websites. Working with individual colleges, Web Services staff are available to assist instructors in building course websites, to provide consulting and training within WordPress, and to integrate WordPress with other information systems on campus, as well as with specialized collegiate applications. To learn more, visit sites.gcu.edu.
Web Services will provide opportunities for faculty to learn about web-based technology and its integration with teaching and research. In addition to the one-on-one assistance provided through consulting, Web Services also offers a variety of opportunities for faculty to learn about emerging technology and teaching.
Ad Hoc Workshops. Web Services staff are available to provide small-group training geared specifically to a department or group, in any location (office, classroom).
Throughout the year, Web Services can sponsor half-day workshops, demonstrations, and seminars on specialized topics covering the latest tools and methods for teaching with technology.
Investigate new and emerging products, methods, and systems that have instructional applications, especially those technologies that are based on open standards and promote interoperability. Investigations are typically collaborations with faculty and other ITS departments, sometimes initiated by WebServ and sometimes initiated by others.
